On its website, the University of Montreal has just released a ticket that tells that the car-fueled diesel are less polluting than gasoline-powered cars.

Patrick Hayes, a researcher and assistant professor of chemistry, addressed the question of the pollution of these two types of engines. With colleagues, he studied special subjects escaped in the car. The content of these particular matters may be harmful to the lungs.

According to popular belief, it was the opposite until this day. However, it is true that at a period more or less remote, diesel cars were many times more polluting than gasoline. Today, this is no longer the case at all.

In fact, in the last few years, the cars driven by a diesel engine must be equipped with a particulate filter diesel. The latter greatly reduces the exhaust of harmful gases.

It’s also important not to always trust appearances. One could believe that a diesel pollutes more than a gas engine given that these emissions are visible to the naked eye.

Professor Hayes and his colleagues have concluded that it was important to keep out of the way the old diesel vehicles and tackle the problem of pollution of gasoline vehicles.
