Novelty Hulu, The First with Sean Penn already has all the foundations of a very good SF series. It is headed by the creator of House of Cards. What more can one ask ?

The First, it is the new creation by Beau Willimon, who we had served excellent american version of House of Cards (he finally left it to the conflict more or less admitted with Netflix, but let’s move on). When the first teaser had already been released, but do we let that glimpse very loosely the plot, this new trailer is the opportunity to discover in more detail the confines of the space conquest and its consequences.

Beautiful, strong, melancholic, this new trailer focused largely on the character camped by Sean Penn gives us to see the astronauts, the most sad of the world, while they are at the edge of the greatest adventure of their lives : from explore Mars. The oscar-winning actor twice (Mystic River, Harvey Milk) interpreter in The First astronaut Tom Hagerty ; a scientific success, retired, and who will be in charge of leading a team pioneer, who will leave at the conquest of the red planet.

The mission, meanwhile, will be funded by Elon Musk for women (Natascha McElhone, who left in the space after the superb Solaris), who wants more than anything in the world that the team is successful. Regardless of the personal sacrifices faced by the astronauts, it is necessary that this small group “fulfilled the fate of eight billion human beings”.

Alongside the interpreter of Harvey Milk, one will find, among others, James Ransone (Sinister), LisaGay Hamilton (Jackie Brown), Hannah Ware (Shame) or Melissa George.

Unlike other series such as The Handmaid”s Tale, which was available in the form of one episode per week, the entirety of The First will be available on channel Hulu on 14 September.
