After years of leaving it to hover in the mystery, Lamborghini has finally unveiled the first official images of the Urus, his brand new SUV.
Inside as outside, the new Urus tries to make us believe that he is a race car by adopting the lines excessively fluid and aggressive. No doubt, there was indeed an air of family with the Huracan and the Aventador.

In direct competition with the Bentley Bentayga and the versions most exclusive in the Porsche Cayenne, the Urus uses a twin-turbo V8 4.0-liter developing 650 horsepower and 627 pound-feet of torque.
It is enough to pass this Lamborghini high on its legs from 0 to 100 km/h in 3.6 seconds and 0 to 200 km/h in 12.8 seconds, with a top speed set at 305 km/h.

In September last year, Lamborghini has set the bar rather high by promising that the Urus will become the SUV the fastest in history to cross the famous circuit of Nürburgring. For the moment, this is the new Alfa Romeo Stelvio Quadrifoglio that holds this honor.
In addition to the power of its V8, the spiritual heir of the “Rambo Lambo” of the components in carbon fibre and an air suspension adjustable to make their presence felt on the track.
The official price in Canada remains unknown, but we can already confirm for you that it can easily exceed$200,000.

Not a first
Even if it is rather strange to see a luxury brand like Lamborghini to launch an SUV, it must be remembered that it is not a first for the Italian manufacturer.
Between 1986 and 1993, Lamborghini built a 4×4 soberly baptized LM002. Taking more like a Hummer that sports car, this funny car was driven by a huge V12 engine.

Manufactured to only 328 units, the LM002 has almost nothing to do with the new Urus, whose development was first done for the track, not for driving off-road.
All that remains is seeing a new SUV to make its appearance at Lamborghini, the comparisons with the Hummer Italian become inevitable!
