The new Honda Accord is almost perfect

Honda has just to present the Agreement to 2018 and is already almost perfect.

The segment of mid-size sedan, which includes among others the Mazda6, Hyundai Sonata, Chevrolet Malibu, Toyota Camry and the Honda Accord, has lost significant market share in favour of SUVS in recent years.

For the year 2018, Honda offers the 10th generation of the Agreement and it presents a silhouette fastback absolutely superb.

Of course, not everything can be perfect. In fact, Honda eliminates the Accord Coupe – sniff! – and the v-6 engine – snif snif!

Of series, it will be powered by a 4-cylinder 1.5-litre turbocharged. Its power and torque amounted to 192 horsepower and as many pounds-foot of torque. It can be mated to either a CVT transmission or 6-speed manual. What a relief to know that Honda has kept the manual transmission!

Option, one finds another 4-cylinder turbocharged i-VTEC, but this time, the 2.0-litre. Yes, it is based on the same engine as that of the
Civic Type R. It develops 252 horsepower and 273 pounds-foot. An automatic transmission 10 and a 6-speed manual are offered.

This Agreement 2018 is a response to loss of speed of niche intermediaries. Is this going to be too little, too late?
