Look at this article
Nissan Canada has just send a press release in which we read that its finance Division has been the victim of a breach of the data protection
In fact, unauthorized persons have accessed the personal information of several customers. It would be exclusively for customers whose vehicles are financed through Nissan Canada Finance and Infiniti financial Services Canada.
Nissan has had the echo of the situation for the first time on the 11th of December last.
For the moment, the exact number of customers affected has not been revealed. The japanese manufacturer contacts currently 1.13 million customers to inform them of the problem.
Among the personal information that has been poorly protected, include the name, address, make, model, vehicle identification number (VIN), the credit rating of the customer, the loan amount and the monthly payment. None of the information in connection with a payment card would be affected.
Unless notice to the contrary, only canadian customers would be affected.
Given that an investigation is underway, Nissan may not, ironically, to comment on the author of this case.
