A few days before the start of the season 2018 Formula 1, Mercedes-AMG has unveiled the safety car the most powerful in the history of the circuit.

To guide the drivers in case of bad weather conditions or after an incident, it is a Mercedes-AMG GT-R which will be involved in this year. Variant, the most powerful of the GT model from Mercedes-AMG, the GT-R is powered by a V8 engine twin-turbo 4.0-litre, 585 horse.

This allows the car to accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in 3.6 seconds and reach a speed mirobolante of 318 km/h. It would almost make the race with the Formula 1 on the track!

However, as this is not its role, this GT-R security is decked out with a giant flashing light on its roof using a carbon fiber bracket.

Division of performance by the German automaker Mercedes-Benz, Mercedes-AMG provides the safety cars to the Formula 1 circuit since 1996.

The season 2018 Formula 1 will begin on Sunday, while the best drivers in the world will compete on the track in Melbourne, Australia. The Grand Prix du Canada will take place on 10 June at the Circuit Gilles-Villeneuve in Montreal.
