It’s been 23 years that Stargate, the stargate is out in the cinema, and we do not see the time pass. It must also say that this universe has been so exploited that there was enough to occupy us during all this time.

And it is true that the film from Roland Emmerich was very nice and was stock at the time, the result of its history is part in directions that are quite wacky, gradually morphing into Star Trek’s New Age with its declinations SG-1, Atlantis and Universe… Attention, we are not told that this was not well (even if we think very hard in relation to some aspects of the saga), we just said that little by little, the franchise has become something else and quite unexpected, to the point of perhaps losing sight of its roots.

And it falls rather well because Stargate will return to the occasion of a new series called Stargate Origins , which, as its title indicates, will serve as a prequel to the saga as a whole. We will follow indeed the adventures of the young explorer, Catherine Langford, whose father has found the Gate in Egypt at the beginning of the Twentieth century and that will have to fight against a whole bunch of stuff, and of stuff fantastic in order that this portal is not to be used by people with bad intentions. It also attempt to unravel the mysteries of this passage.

A pitch rather attractive which promises suspense and action to the old way Indiana Jones while in the adorning of a good dose of SF retro. The series has just broadcast a new teaser to celebrate the disclosure of the date of your arrival on our screens : Stargate Origins , we will offer 10 episodes from February 15 next. However, its mode of dissemination will be a little special as it will be to see exclusively on Stargate Command, the platform digitiale of the MGM that the series will be the spearhead.
