In a video posted online by
Renault UK, it was learned that Rosemary Smith became the oldest person to drive a car running 800 horsepower, in this case, a Formula 1 car.

Born in Ireland in 1937, Rosemary Smith is a former rally driver, who notably ran at the wheel of Renault cars. She identifies her passion as being the driving cars at very high speeds.

After that the engineers have dissected the track Paul Ricard and the complex workings of the Renault F1, Rosemary Smith donned a helmet and a wetsuit, and then she has embarked on the track. Ca seemed to be that she has done it all his life!

In order to make a foot of nose to the machismo present in motor racing, Renault Sport has had the brilliant idea to create this stunt. Let us remember that David Coulthard, a former pilot
Formula 1, had said that women could not be performing on board of the most prestigious single-seaters because of their maternal instinct.

This brilliant stroke of marketing aims to promote the latest advertising campaign from Renault UK : The Ultimate Test Drive (the ultimate road test). In fact, all those who will make the test drive of a Renault dealership by September 30, next have a chance to lead, in their turn, the Formula 1 of Renault.
