The Volkswagen Touareg is not dead!
The manufacturer from Wolfsburg has been the presentation of a new generation of this distant cousin of the Porsche Cayenne, which appeared for the first time in 2002.
Longer and wider than before, the new Touareg adopts a new grille, over-sized, which reminds us that of the new Tiguan and the Jetta 2019.

Inside, a gigantic 15 inch touch screen takes up almost all the space on the dashboard. Another screen, the “digital cockpit” that we have already seen at Audi, is positioned in front of the driver.

Under the hood, a range of petrol engines and diesel is available. Volkswagen was even talk of a variant hybrid.
Not bad, isn’t it? But do not attach it too fast, as Volkswagen has no plans to market the Touareg 2019 in North America. For us, it is the Atlas, which now has the mandate to seduce lovers of large SUVS. The Tuareg, him, will focus on China and Europe.
Built in North America for the north american, the Volkswagen Atlas has kind of signed the death warrant of the Touareg in Canada and the United States. The Tiguan, for its part, provides a template much bigger than before. All of this makes the marketing in north american the new Touareg uninteresting in the eyes of Volkswagen.
