It is at the motor Show in New York that Volkswagen has chosen to unveil his pickup truck, which was as expected.
The rumors were many, but it is now official. The German manufacturer made the first step in the world of small trucks by presenting a conceptual approach to its pickup.
Contrary to what one might think, it is not a north-americanized of the Amarok, which is sold elsewhere on the planet for a few years already.

Based on the versatile MQB platform, the Atlas Tanoak is powered by a V6 FSI 276 horsepower and 266 pound-feet. The power is transmitted to all four wheels through an automatic transmission with eight reports. It can reach 96 km/h in 8.5 seconds.
Although it is similar to the Atlas, which runs through already our roads, this declension may count on a longer wheelbase 28 cm. As to the whole of the body, it was raised to 5 cm, which can offer a ground clearance of 25 cm. The version of conceptual design is mounted on 20-inch rims, which are shod with tires 275/55.

As you can see on photos, LED lights occupy a large part of the grille and the tailgate.
Inside, a maximum of five occupants can take place.
As to the cargo box, it has the particularity to offer a modular, which facilitates the transport of long items like a canoe or a ladder.

At the time of writing these few lines, Volkswagen mentions that the production of the Atlas Tanoak does not figure in the plans of the company. This concept vehicle is essentially a way of measuring the temperature of the water. The price as well as the dimensions of consumption are thus obviously not known.
If it was to be marketed, it concurrencerait directly to the Honda Ridgeline. To this effect, Hyundai also intends to penetrate this market with its Santa Cruz.
