Gillian Anderson is keen to signal that she was not responsible for the end of the X-Files.

Cruelty or mercy, the information was dropped by a patron of the Fox : the series X-Files will not be entitled to a season 12. After a season 10 in the form of a comeback moderately satisfactory, and then a season 11 even worse, the cult series by Chris Carter with David Duchovny and Gillian Anderson did not deserve probably not stretch out the suffering, and tarnished a little more the good memories of the 90’s.

For many, the decision of Gillian Anderson to file for good the stethoscope and the incredulity of Scully, announced last January, there was to much in the end. But the actress has a different opinion on the matter.

“Mulder, this time it is my turn to me steer the X-Files at the momet where it sucks”

In response to an article by TVLine titled “The Fox has ‘no plans’ for season 12 following the departure of Gillian Anderson,” the actress posted on Twitter, to the attention of the editor :

“Michael, the truth is… after the departure of 77% of hearing”

Well Michael, the truth is…after exit of 77% of viewership. https://t.co/WyaHQnR3gt

Gillian Anderson address the hearings very bad this season 11, far from having been worn by the same craze as the tenth season. As well, the first episode of what would therefore be the last season has been followed, according to the index Nielsen, by the 5.15 million spectators : it is very, very far 16,19 gathered for the start of the season 10. Next season final, the comparison is dramatic : 3.43 million for season 11, and 7,60 for the season 10.

The eleventh season was the least watched in the history of the X-Files, which has flirted with $ 27 million at the top of his popularity, in seasons 4 and 5. It had been cancelled for the first time in 2001, following a fall of the hearings, already.

No matter if Chris Carter has no desire to see her baby buried, again : the business of Mulder and Scully seem to be definitively classified.
