X-Men – Dark Phoenix: An actress of The Originals cast in the role of Jean Gray?

Cinema 31 July, 2017

Surprise! The cast of X-Men – Dark Phoenix would have grown with the arrival of an actress of The Originals. And this one would be there to interpret a young Jean Gray!

Fans of mutants in general and X-Men in particular must have been a little disappointed this month. Because, of all the superheroes, they are pretty much the only ones who preferred not to show during the Comic Con of San Diego. No picture, no info on Deadpool 2 or on X-Men – Dark Phoenix has made its way to us. But do not worry, meltynauts, it’s not because the superhero films of the Fox were not there that we have nothing to put in the teeth! And yes, a new crunch has just appeared on the net and it concerns the cast of X-Men – Dark Phoenix, which could also include Olivia Munn (aka Psylocke). Imagine that a new actress would have, according to the IMDB site, joined the distribution of the film in the role of a major character in the story. And this actress is none other than Summer Fontana, that we could see in the series The Originals where she plays Hope Mikaelson!

And there, those who are fans of the CW series must ask themselves a few questions. Because Hope Mikaelson is in fact … only a little girl! Summer Fontana is only a dozen years old. So what could a child do in X-Men – Dark Phoenix? In reality, the actress would incarnate a young Jean Gray, whose adolescent version is still interpreted by Sophie Turner. The plot of the film takes place in the 1990s, so Summer Fontana should appear in flashbacks. And on this subject, one can only speculate. It is possible, among other things, that one is projected in the past in order to discover what event of the life of Jean Gray provoked the appearance of its powers. Anyway, Summer Fontana’s role should be fairly minor at any rate – there is little chance that she will give the reply to the favorite mutant of the fans who will be back in X-Men – Dark Phoenix – and important enough to tell us a little more about the character’s story. Wait & see!
