Ruptures: attention danger
(Montreal) CHRONIC / fans Ruptures , get ready for an intense second season and eventful. Family law lawyer Ariane Beaumont will have her arms full with a story of child care, a case of pedophilia and the divorce of her colleague Claude. Expect scenes to tear the heart. And for stunning episode purposes.
Ariane (Melissa Desormeaux-Poulin) allowed herself to be reached by the causes she defended in the first season, and that will not change. You will see it crack under pressure. But it must be said that it was not easy, by attacking members of organized crime, including Robert Foster (Sébastien Huberdeau), more dangerous and distracted than ever. The director François Bouvier, who succeeds Mariloup Wolfe, has made all the tension that surrounds the safety of Ariane, who feels spied from evening to morning.
In the first episodes, one settles the case of Romane (Bianca Gervais), who tries to obtain exclusive custody of his son and to remove the father, Foster. The end of the first episode, which I had not seen coming, is so brutal that you may have to hide your eyes by looking at it.
The first season ended with the separation of Ariane and Étienne (Vincent-Guillaume Otis), the latter having emptied the condo on leaving. The infidel advocate did not give up. The voice teacher (Guillaume Lemay – Thivierge) is still in the background, although Ariane knows it now married. We feel that this story is not over.
Ariane will have to defend Claude (Isabel Richer) for his divorce, and it is almost as epic as a famous cause that is making headlines right now. Recall that breaks is loosely based on the career of Suzanne Pringle, counsel for Julie Snyder. Terrible clashes are announced with the ruthless Marie Rousseau (Catherine Trudeau), the lawyer who seems to have a rock in place of the heart, and who always throws the most murderous replies.
Some characters make their appearance. Serge Postigo plays an investigator as seen in An exemplary woman, who spies and finds incriminating evidence. It will be used in the Foster case against Romane.
Geneviève Brouillette plays the wife of Jean-Luc De Vries (Normand D’Amour), big boss of the old firm of Ariane and who cheats on his wife. Martine Francke embodies a social worker more rigid than human. Throughout the episodes, we will see Benoît McGinnis, Catherine De Léan and Jean L’Italien as a judge.
I loved the first two episodes. No respite for the tele-spectator, we go straight to the point, and we are exhausted for poor Ariane, who seems overwhelmed by what she lives. Again, Mélissa Désormeaux – Poulin is formidable in this role of strong woman, yet still on the verge of fainting. His plea for the defense of Romane’s son draws tears.
The authors Isabelle Pelletier and Daniel Thibault had the help of Luc Dionne for the first two episodes and Jacques Diamant for the following. Warning: Ruptures settled Monday at 20h instead of Wednesday to 21h. We repeat the final of the first season on January 2nd and we send the second on the 9th. The broadcaster believes he can reach a wider audience, and solidify his Monday night. Last year, the series attracted an average of 985,000 faithful on Wednesday. Recall that L’auberge du chien noir , which will end in the spring, moved on Thursday to 20h. Most impatient can see the episode on Monday evening Tou.tv .
