Big Little Lies: Episode 2, dramatic and disturbing, our critic!
That says new week says new episode of the HBO Big Little Lies. Check out our criticism of “Serious Mothering” and pay attention to spoilers.
The event miniseries HBO continues this week and after you have unveiled the promotional video of episode 2 of Big Little Lies , we now offer you our criticism of “Serious Mothering” , also broadcast on OCS City Generation HBO. This week the war between Madeline (Reese Witherspoon) and Renata (Laura Dern) continues as Ed (Adam Scott) asserts himself and shows us a new facet of a character much more endearing than in the pilot. It must be said that in front of a woman like his, difficult to impose, but it is with disarming honesty and impetus of determination that Ed places himself on the front of the stage and it succeeds . The series is not full of exemplary husbands and next to the nonexistent father of Ziggy and Perry, hard not to find Ed sympathetic. But let’s get back to Perry (Alexander Skarsgard) and his relationship a disturbing hair with Celeste (Nicole Kidman). As often in this kind of series, the masks fall quickly and under the appearance of a loving and perfect couple, they are two torn beings that one could see.
Perry’s rapid transformation from a loving husband to a violent lover is particularly frightening and one wonders what is the exact nature of her relationship with Celeste – who, in fact, realizes the strangeness of the thing when she Talks with Madeline. How far will the series go? There is some fear of seeing it and it is strongly hoped that this relationship will not become more problematic than it already is by flirting with marital rape – unless the subject is properly addressed. Finally Jane (Shailene Woodley) remains the lost mother who always tries to flee her past – and especially the famous night on the beach – with subtle parallels showing her running . It must be said that ”
Ziggy was not invited to the birthday of Amabella – shocking – and Madeline decides to organize a nursery version of the evening by inviting the whole school Class at a Disney show. In other words, the atmosphere with Renata is stretched to the possible and that the next episode is likely to be full of scathing replies and ingenious low blows. In the end “Serious Mothering” was more revealed to be focused on the different psychoses of the characters rather than on murder always as mysterious . Madeline continues to be exuberant and human at the same time in good Queen Bee as she is while the characters of Jane and Celeste are revealed more slowly. The series offered us a second episode satisfying and surprising but that continues to install a climate quite disturbing and glaucous. The main plot does not lend itself to fun and everything is done, from the soundtrack to the aesthetics of the series, to immerse us in a special atmosphere. While waiting for the continuation of which the promo video is available above, we have already revealed to you who died in Big Little Lies . And you, what did you think of the episode?
