Green Day ignites Center Videotron

Art 24 March, 2017

To describe the atmosphere that prevailed in the Videotron Center on Thursday night, it is impossible to avoid the clichés: Green Day set fire to and a boosted public vibrated to the rhythm of hell imposed by the veterans of the punk.
In other words, Green Day and its fans (between 13,000 and 14,000 according to our evaluation) who filled the amphitheater for the Revolution Radio tour paid a whole party.

The party had begun early as several admirers waited in line outside for many hours to get the best seats on the floor.

As he did at the Agora in 2010 and at the Coliseum in 2013, the California trio, led by a Billie Joe Armstrong, still rewarded them with a punk-rock marathon that stretched on Two hours and thirty.
Fans waited long hours in the parking lot of the amphitheater to have the best seats.

And it’s not because the evening was going to be long that Armstrong, Mike Dirnt and Tré Cool saved their energy.
Imagine, after forty minutes of concert, we heard Holiday, Boulevard of Broken Dreams, a fan had come on stage to sing Know Your Enemy before being imitated by a man named Sarah who stole the show during his crazy interpretation of Longview . Phew!

After this start, the intensity remained at the zenith. Accompanied by three touring musicians, the three Green Day members were particularly formidable on the furiously doubled Are We The Waiting \\ St.Jimmy while the Minority and Basket Case sowed the frenzy. Just like American Idiot and Jesus of Suburbia, to the reminder.
Proof that everything was allowed, we even heard the saxophone solo of Careless Whisper, Wham !, at one time.
Armstrong, an unmatched crowd-maker, came out with his old tricks, including public watering through a hose and throwing a t-shirt with a cannon. He also invited a spectator, Alexandra, to play the guitar on Knowledge. Of course, the lucky woman left with the instrument.
Near the fans, Billie Joe Armstrong made them the moral concerning the use of cell phones. “You do not need this phone. If you look at me through a screen, you do not look at me, “he told a fan who was filming him from the floor.
A superb evening which unfortunately ended on a bad note for some spectators who were attacked by a wolf out of control behind our section. Let us hope that we shall never see him again.
