The rock, the Queen knows. And the legendary training has once more demonstrated loudly on Monday night at the Bell Centre, the sound of the guitar of Brian May and the drums of Roger Taylor (who will soon be 70 years old!).
Supported by Adam Lambert with success for nearly five years, the group has revisited its popular catalogue. By contrast, clouds of smoke and light bland have a few times filed a bit of dust on this impressive offering rock.
First communion
As he had guessed, Brian May ardently shakes his guitar from the first notes of the concert began with a short “We Will Rock You” as a snack.
It took fifteen minutes before the band was to be led by a Adam Lambert a very energetic and voice actually reaching to wear some 12 000 fans.
This is the play “Fat Bottomed Girls” which was first generated major impulses, as of the end of “Another One Bites The Dust” who was able to untie the language of several.
The show Adam Lambert
But the show (the physical), this was in great part that of Adam Lambert. Red hair, dressed in leather and decked out big square glasses black, he began his performance with an eyelash. Very in voice, he immediately shared his pleasure to an audience who only wanted to support it.
Do not fear comparisons and brightly coloured, the former finalist of”American Idol” has quickly touted the talent of his predecessor. “Forever, there will be only one Freddie”, he launched at the crowd, raising the passions.
He then allowed a small bike ride for a few lines of “Bicycle Race” on the extension – in the form of a sleeve of the electric guitar – of the scene.
Special Mentions to his vocal prowess on the last notes of “Get Down (With My Love)” and the small liberties he was permitted at the end of “I Want It All”. Only downside: although lively and offering a certain degree of familiarity with the Queen, his new song “Two Stream” has caused a low level of enthusiasm.
In honor of Freddie
For Brian May, also, it was obviously impossible not to mention the impact of Freddie Mercury on his formation formed in the early 1970s. Less than an hour after being mounted on the stage, the guitarist came forward, alone, to dedicate the room acoustic “Love Of My Life” to the late singer.
It is an evening of undeniably rock that had invited the Queen to his guests. And the banquet was well stocked.
After 80 minutes, and half of the planned program, Queen had not yet made use of his immense safe values “Bohemian Rhapsody”, “We Are The Champions” and “We Will Rock You” (full version). But that did not prevent to deliver a high-quality music.
