Since its inception more than 25 years, Fred Radix has been an actor, musician and singer. But this year, it is as a piping and humorist, that the French coming to meet the people of quebec.
Present a whole show by whistling ? The proposal is unconventional, concedes Fred Radix.
“Several people have thought I was nuts,” sneers Fred Radix from France, during a videoconference with The Journal last week.

Humor and classical music
Created four years ago, The tundra has come up in the ranks, going from a number to just six minutes in a show of over an hour, presented until this evening at the Cinquième salle of Place des Arts. On stage, Fred Radix revisits some of the classical pieces the more well-known, backed by a quirky humor and sometimes absurd.
“It is a show that is very funny, but it is also an outreach exercise. I know that some of the spectators come to see me backwards, believing that they do not know anything in classical music. But they walk away saying that, finally, they are familiar pieces, such as Bizet’s Carmen, for example, ” says Fred Radix.
The last performance of the show The Piping will be presented at the Cinquième salle of the Place des Arts, 19 h this evening.
