OMG! After a few weeks, season 3 of How to Get Away with Murder ended with a double episode last night on ABC and the least we can say is that we did not Not disappointed. We invite you to discover our criticism of “He Made A Terrible Mistake” and “Wes” and watch out for spoilers if you have not seen them! As we suspected and since all the previous episodes brought us there, the final double season focused only on Wes and even the very last episode of the season was named after him. Peter Nowalk pays a great tribute to a central character of the series that we will miss very much in the sequel . Episode 14 opens with an elaborate and captivating sequence that shows Connor and Annalise’s discomfort, a sort of preamble to the open-hearted conversation that they later in the episode. Long waited, this face to face finally allows them to empty their bag to perhaps lay the foundations of a new confidence.
She will be put to use, this confidence, since the verdict of the hearing of Annalise fell and this last will go well on trial for the murder of Wes Gibbins. Yet after being so often accused, Connor in turn assumes the role of potential suspect to protect his professor and offers to testify to admit his presence at the scene of the crime . Her confession to Michaela, Laurel, Asher and Bonnie causes predictable chaos and very difficult words on the part of Laurel who is a little too inclined to think that she is the only one affected by Wes’s death. The Keating 4 plan is revised so that Laurel testifies with the story of Connor but unfortunately this is not enough and Connor decides once again to take the lead to confess everything to the assistant attorney Denver.
While everyone is worried about his disappearance, Connor risks imprisonment and gives one last piece of information to try to save his skin: the registration of Annalise’s phone copied by Oliver on a USB stick. This confession coincides with Annalise’s decision to balance the name of a last suspect to avoid prison. Despite Laurel’s protests, Annalise goes to Denver and tells him what he finds on his phone’s record: a message from Wes that confesses to killing Sam Keating and indirectly Rebecca. One last time, Wes will come to the rescue of her teacher by saving her and helping her friends put the whole story behind them once and for all . Obviously this does not solve the mystery for them and since Charles Mahoney – the real father of Wes / Christophe – has been released, Laurel decides to take matters into his own hands. At the moment when it is feared that she will commit the irreparable, a character intervenes and her face is familiar to us since it is the murderer of Wes.
