The series british Luther, arrived on Netflix a few months ago, is coming soon for a fifth season. Four years after the end of the last season, Idris Elba will take on again the gray suit of the detective. The series written by Neil Cross (also known for the film Mama released in 2013) has been released by BBC One from may 2010 to December 2015.

London is the theatre of the history of Luther (Idris Elba), the brilliant inspector criminal who’s hard to contain bouts of violence. The life of the inspector takes a turn he had not anticipated when he let a serial killer die, then he would have been able to save him.

After six months of setting foot, Luther resumed his position and gradually loses those who are dear to him. In parallel, he formed a relationship that is ambiguous (between friendship and enmity) with a brilliant psychopath, Alice Morgan, that he was unable to stop due to lack of evidence.

It’s a bit catch me if you can

The series, which aired from 2010 to 2015, was a resounding success, in particular thanks to the lead actor Idris Elba, acclaimed by the critics for her interpretation. He has received numerous awards (Goden Globe, Critics ‘ Choice Television Award, NAACP Image Award, and the Scree Actors Guild Award and 11 nominations in the Primetime Emmy Award.

The series was set between parentheses (season 4 was released end of 2015) because of the increasing success of the actor, which connects the shootings. It has been very busy with Marvel and his role of Heimdall in the three parts of Thor or the Avengers : Age of Ultron, not to mention Mandela : long walk to freedom , and The Dark Tower.

But the series will return for 4 episodes, co-produced by BBC Studios and BBC America. No release date has been communicated for the moment, but the first images have arrived.

Actress Ruth Wilson talks Alice Morgan, the character of the psychopath that she will play again, at the microphone of Collider :

This character is so unique and so interesting, and Neil [Cross] (the creator of the series) loved the writing, it was a lot of fun. We don’t see often of women psychopaths who really like what they are. There are an infinite number of male characters like that. For me, it was really liberating. Usually I play characters who are imprisoned in a straitjacket of morality, tirraillés between good and evil, and who struggle. This character was not like that at all, and that is what is liberating. I don’t think I have understood well when I took on the role. It is only by turning to season after season we realized that it is a bestiality rather rare. I really love the play […]. I think audiences like it when actors are fun to play “.

Thanks to the first images of season 5, we find Luther in a scene of violence typical of the series. It is in the hands of the gangster George Cornelius, who is trying to understand what is happening to his son Alastair (as names of big villains). The interrogation of Luther cannot do without beating, tazer and Russian roulette, but the detective succeeds quickly to return the situation to its advantage.

It will have to wait for the return of Luther to the screen to know why George Cornelius is convinced that Luther has something to do with the disappearance of her son.
