Women will clearly have their places in the new season of The Walking Dead. Good riddance to the machismo of the series… Isn’t it ?

The Walking Dead is not going very well lately. After more than eight long years of good and loyal services, the show barely out of the latest hearings to be catastrophic due to the past few seasons. The series continues to pull on the cord until the cord until the day… Any crack.

With the recent announcement of Lauren Cohan (aka Maggie) wanting to leave the show, it was the turn of Andrew Lincoln to announce his forthcoming departure. Anyway, all that to say that with these two pillars that set sail, it remains world’s largest on the door to rekindle the flame of a series on the road to perdition.

We are going to do everything the opposite of what you should do

It was without counting on Angela Kang, new showrunneuse of the series, who succeeded Frank Darabont, Glen Mazzara and Scott M. Gimple, determined to take things in hand. The writer said during a panel dedicated to women, the chain AMC (which broadcasts the series) as the season 9 of The Walking Dead would not be linear, would mark a leap in time, and that the women would have a greater place in the plot. It is in any case only confirmed Angela Kang to reporters Insider :

“We’ll catch a glimpse of the great stories in our new season, with women in particular. And I think the viewers who really feel concerned by Michonne, Maggie or Carol will find their accounts, just like Rick and Daryl and the other characters that we love. But, for fans who are really looking for this specificity can actually see the incredible work provided by our actresses.”

If since the beginning of the show does not shine for its respect for the comicbook by Robert Kirkman, season 9 will meet the ellipse in two years that figure in the arc storyline of Negan. At least, supposedly.

Finally, there will be less of “you” and more women

On the other hand, for those who have followed the story of Lauren Cohan who wishes to leave in the middle of season 9, Angela Kang has not taken the time to specify what spell they were going to reserve him. A problem of size, because Lauren Cohan is one of the key elements of the series, especially if the new showrunneuse want to push forward the women of the series. Bad timing in all of this.

To discover the end of the story, it will have to wait until the next school year. The season 9 of The Walking Dead begins in October on AMC and OCS in France.
