Stranger Things : after Steven Spielberg and Stephen King, season 3 will film unexpected

After an obvious tribute to the works of Steven Spielberg and Stephen King in the first season, and then to the famous ghostbusters (among others) in season 2, the series of the brothers Duffer are expected to pay tribute to a new film.

Stranger Things is preparing, slowly but surely to its next season, scheduled for the summer of 2019. It is still far away, certainly, but it needs the time to mature his characters, to make them evolve in a setting different than what the brothers Duffer have been in the habit of giving us for two consecutive seasons.

The producer of the series, Shawn Levy, has revealed in an interview with Firepost that “this will be a fun and light. There will be plenty of fun summer and sweetness”. Thing that he retweetée on his personal account later, stating that it“will also be much, much more than that.”

Between two of love stories flourishing, and mignonettes, it will be necessary to focus on the other side : the more gruesome, darker, isn’t it ? Concerning this part, the actor David Harbour has announced in a recent interview for Variety that the show runners of Stranger Things, Matt and Ross Duffer will draw inspiration from the action-comedy of 1985 : Fletch aux trousses.

“The brothers Duffer are so specific to each year with the movies… And Fletch is a movie with which we’re going to play and we have fun this season. What you wouldn’t expect, necessarily, with Stranger Things, with the universe of Spielberg, and certainly not with a season more dark.”

For those of you who do not know Fletch aux trousses, the film is directed by Michael Ritchie, and follows in the footsteps of an investigative reporter (Chevy Chase), which multiplies the changes of identities for his big investigation. Disguised as a homeless, he is approached one day by a wealthy man who, in return for a very nice amount of money, asks him to come to him in order to put an end to his life, since he is suffering from terminal cancer. However, when Fletch investigation, he discovers that this man is far from being on the point of dying, and that, on the contrary he has an agenda for something.

Stranger Things season 3 will be released during the summer of 2019.
