If the cancellation of the series, Daredevil, two weeks ago, has, bottom, surprised person, she has done very wrong in the heart of the fans. But then we had an guilty any designated, it may be necessary to revise its judgment.
And it is true that, since cancellations in the chain of the series of super-hero Netflix, it keeps loading always the same culprit : Disney, which plans to launch its own service of SVOD in 2019, Disney +, and would therefore end its partnership with the one who will become its main competitor.
Of it, and we are all convinced. But, lo, a sound of a bell a little different comes to resonate in our ears. In fact, while we was not expecting it at all, the actress Amy Rutberg, who embodies Marci Stahl in Daredevil, has just revealed in a press release that, according to it, Marvel has nothing to do in the cancellation of the series, but that the decision would have been taken by Netflix, and only Netflix :
Amy Rutberg
“My contacts at Marvel have been very surprised. All the rumors that accuse Marvel made this decision are false. According to me, it is a choice that is entirely up to Netflix. I say this due to personal conversations I’ve had with people in high places at Marvel. They have been surprised. We were told that we were going to start to turn the season 4 as soon as the month of February 2019. It is very unusual to be so advanced in the preparation of a season and cancel the program, which makes me think that Netflix should already think about its maintenance or not. It doesn’t have to be an easy decision.”
A revelation that might put fire to the powders in the relationship of trust between Netflix and fans of the series, as the actress reveals afterwards that they had committed to 5 seasons and that the players had signed an exclusivity agreement with Netflix and would not be able to participate in following the series if it had migrated over to Disney + :
“This is the term of the contract with Netflix. I was told that he remained for 18 months, or 2 years. I suppose that Marvel could very well redeem them but I have not heard anything that goes in this direction so far.”
So yes, everything leads us to believe that Daredevil is dead. It’s just that we had the wrong murderer.
