If the mode is in the adaptations of comics of any kind, which is a pleasure to see it is that the novels are not left out. And if the cinema, with a two exceptions, remains rather classic, the flat, she takes the opportunity to attack works well crazy.

If you had told us, there is still 3 years thatAmerican Gods was going to be adapted to tv series and that it would be as well, it would not have been believed. And yet, the facts are there, the series of the network Starz is one of the major works of this year, even if she allows a certain number of betrayals critical to the novel of Neil Gaiman. So, why stop in so good way ?

We had vaguely heard about it a few months ago, but this time, there it is, Good Omens, one of the other masterpieces of the novelist, is being adapted for the streaming service of Amazon. Co-written with the late Terry Pratchett (who we miss terribly in these days, although dark), the novel is a monument of humour and philosophy which speaks of none other than the Antichrist, except that the toddler demonic has not been entrusted to the family expected, was exchanged at birth and that his replacement is in fact a boy, quite normal. This is due to an angel, Aziraphale, and a demon, Crawled, which are not too agree that the Apocalypse is triggered because they are accustomed to their life on Earth, and that they do not want this to change.

The great Terry Pratchett and Neil Gaiman

You see, we are still in the story can easily be adapted… The book is awesome and very, very funny, we wondered what this could give once transposed in the series. Therefore, we are more than reassured when the production has released the first image of the two heroes, respectively played by Michael Sheen and David Tennant. And, frankly, we couldn’t dream better. Besides, even Gaiman has commented on this choice particularly bold :

“People have fallen in love with an angel and a demon in a book written by Terry Pratchett and me. And they were eager and nervous to see what it was going to give to the screen. And I was the first one of them. Here is a first glimpse. Micheal Sheen is the best seller of the books of heaven, and David Tennant, the coolest and the most delicious of demons.”

It is therefore hoped that the rest will be up to the rider and in particular Pooch, the terrible hellhound of the Underworld. Those who have read will understand.
