Cinema 3 May, 2017

David and Walter, the two android of Alien: Covenant, are not at all similar. Michael Fassbender recently confided in their differences!
Are you ready to face new extraterrestrials? Alien: Covenant finally arrives next Wednesday in our dark rooms, with its parade of not friendly and creepy aliens, heroes in full survival horror and above all, androids a little shady. Because yes, as you probably know, the film is not content this time with the presence of a single robot. Not only will we find David, who accompanied Elizabeth Shaw in space, as revealed in Alien: Covenant’s video prologue , but we’ll also meet Walter, his almost twin. Of course, it is Michael Fassbender who lends his features to the two characters, The color of their hair being about the only thing that will allow us to distinguish them. Or not. It is not because the two androids are physically alike that they are alike! Moreover, the actor was able to reveal some of the differences that exist between David, the robot sometimes a little too human, and Walter, the newcomer loyal to the crew of the Covenant.
In an interview with Entertainment Weekly, Michael Fassbender explained what really differentiated David and Walter. And everything has obviously to do with their way of behaving, David appearing in fact more human than his counterpart . The actor says: ” I wanted Walter to be a little more like Spock – deprived of these human characteristics and emotional content that were programmed in David. I wanted it to be a bit like a blank page, on which Everyone could project what he wants . ” So yes, as we suspected, Walter should be much less expressive than David, which does not mean that it will not be less disturbing, as can be seen on the Alien poster: Covenant that was unveiled some time ago. However, there is a good chance that the emotions programmed in David have pushed him towards the dark side and are responsible for his fascination for extraterrestrial life. In itself, therefore , the fact that Walter is deprived of these human affects may make him more trustworthy . Well, that’s still to be seen … Do you look forward to seeing the film?
