Health 1 March, 2017

On Saturday, June 17th, a thousand people will put on their running shoes and take to the streets of Terrebonne as part of the 5th edition of À Votre Rhythme, organized for the benefit of the Fondation Santé Sud de Lanaudière. A great opportunity to do well while contributing to the well-being of the community!

Presented by Uniprix, the activity offers different race and walking routes over distances ranging from 1 km to 15 km, starting from the Pierre-Le Gardeur Hospital. In order to encourage participants to register with family, friends or even colleagues, the organizing committee of the event proposes this year a $ 5 discount on the price of the activity when a minimum of five people Sign up as a team.

Another great novelty this year is that the runners or walkers who take part in the event and who raise a minimum of $ 100 for the cause will receive a medal bearing the image of the Fondation Santé Sud de Lanaudière. “Again, the organizing committee strongly encourages all participants to do more for the cause by undertaking a fundraiser,” said Kim Barrette, philanthropic development coordinator for the Lanaudière Health South Foundation.

The At Your Rhythm event is an opportunity to do you good while involving you for your community. All funds raised will go to the Oncology Department of the Pierre-Le Gardeur Hospital. Hemato-oncologist at the Terrebonne hospital, Dr. Hossein Jamali can testify to the impact that each dollar raised can have on the quality of services provided. “For the past year we have a new oncology center that is nearly three times larger than our previous facilities and has high-performance computer equipment, which allows us to better manage patients. Every dollar raised makes a difference by being invested with care and rigor, “says one who also acts as honorary co-chair of the event, alongside François Lachance,

For the second year, the organizing committee announced that Olympic athlete Marc Gagnon will act as spokesperson for the event. “The last edition was wonderful and allowed us to exceed expectations at all levels. The fight against cancer is very important to me, and seeing so many people mobilize for the cause and put their efforts together, it touches me a lot. There is, at the At Your Rhythm event, an extraordinary energy, “he said.
