Since then, his trial had taken on a scale quite daunting in the wake of the movement #MeToo. In may 2018, the prestigious academy of the Oscars was to hear its verdict and vote for the expulsion of Bill Cosby, then a member of the committee. Today the axe fell for the old actor. The verdict was delivered on 25 September : Bill Cosby has been sentenced to a penalty of three to ten years of imprisonment for sexual assault. A sentence issued by a judge of Pennsylvania in the north-eastern United States.
It should be noted that Bill Cosby may, if it wishes, submit a request for release on parole after having spent three years in detention. A query that will then be the subject of an examination by a special commission. Later, if the actor continues to renew her request for parole, and that all his requests are denied, he will have to serve ten years of imprisonment. Note, however, that the penalty is far less than that initially planned, as it was then 30 years of criminal imprisonment.
