The State of Maryland had already alerted his people about an increase in overdose due to cocaine last month. The american State is not the only one in this situation.
The death by overdose of cocaine occur primarily among a black population non-hispanic, if one relies on the findings of a report published in Annals of Internal Medicine.

A death rate increasing

The death rate is the same as that of the deaths due to heroin and opioid prescription drugs in the non-hispanic white population. While strategies to treat overdose of opioids and heroin prescription are well-codified and fairly well-known (but deserve to be intensified), prevention efforts focused on reducing deaths related to cocaine are needed.

The spectrum of ethnic

The rate of deaths by overdose in the US increased 5.5% per year between 1999 and 2015, the majority of these deaths being attributed to opioid use. Researchers from the national Institute on drug abuse and the national cancer Institute have studied the complete data from death certificates u.s. between 2000 and 2015 to compare rates and types of death. One thing is clear from their study : the death by drug overdose was a significant problem for white people, black and non-hispanic. Only the populations hispanics are preserved even if the problem is growing among them.

Given our ability to follow the United States in various fields, we must prepare to support a growing number of overdose to cocaine.
