Game of Thrones, Pretty Little Liars, Stranger Things: When Teens Become Badass Anti-Heroines

Cinema 11 January, 2017

2016 was marked by many small revolutions and a sympathetic tendency: to see the young heroines of series take their life in hand even to sow chaos in their passage.

The year 2017 began and on the small screen, we can only wish him to continue to surprise us and evolve to break ever more standards. So that’s three series and their young heroines that we are going back today to share the relevant finding of Vox : no more helpless girls and sidelined, the time is for the decisions and the (re) making control. To illustrate this, it is to Arya and Sansa Stark of Game of Thrones, Eleven of Stranger Things and even Liars of Pretty Little Liars that we will be interested. Sophie Turner explained that there is little Sansa could see rule the North only in season 7 of Game of Thrones , and it is consistent with the evolution of the young woman with the seasons. After being mistreated, mistreated, raped and beaten, Sansa unveiled a more cruel and more calculating side in Season 6 to prove that young girls could also be violent and master of their destiny.
His barely disguised joy at the brutal death of Ramsay served as a turning point to see how far Sansa was ready to go to assert her authority and prove that she was worthy to reign at Winterfell. The same goes for Arya Stark who, more than many of the characters of Game of Thrones, acted violently to satiate his revenge. Throughout the seasons Arya grew up from a stubborn young girl who listened only to her thirst for vengeance as a seasoned fighter and grown up in a complex challenge of having to give up her identity. This ambivalence personality made her a fascinating character – though under-exploited – it is rare to see on television . Both Stark use violence as a means to their own ends and also to participate in their own Game of Thrones and thus illustrate themselves as powerful anti-heroines but morally ambiguous. Difficult to talk about badass anti-heroines not to mention Eleven, central figure of the series Netflix Stranger Things. Exploited since its birth, Eleven remains the most powerful and intriguing character in the series by going against everything that can be expected from a little girl.
Strong, determined and killer at times, Eleven offers a double facet at once frightening and touching via his discovery of the world and human relations. By not restraining herself from harming those who threaten her loved ones, the girl also shows that adolescent girls can play violent and powerful roles while keeping a facet vulnerable and endearing. Finally we end with the adventures of the heroines of Pretty Little Liars who, despite their faults, are still ready to kill and to keep many secrets to protect themselves between them. Many teenagers who transcend the roles usually assigned to girls of this age to unveil the violent aspects and badass sometimes surprising not inconsequential . While waiting to know if they will, you can find the stars of Game of Thrones and Stranger Things in the opening film hilrant Golden Globes 2017! What do you think ?
