Last night, the American channel HBO broadcast episode 3 of season 7 of Game of Thrones. Then discover our review of “The Queen’s Justice”, pay attention to the spoilers!

Since the time we waited for it, episode 3 of season 7 of Game of Thrones finally offered us the meeting between Daenerys and Jon Snow that we wanted so much to see and the least one can say is That she was up to par. But it’s not the only big event in this episode, because there’s a lot going on in “The Queen’s Justice”. Where the first seasons always take their time, one feels more than ever that the rhythm accelerates as one arrives in the last ten episodes of the series. We may be sorry that some scenes are a little too fast, so much so that they seem slightly sloppy, like the two “big” battles of the episode. However, Game of Thrones continues to take the time to interact the characters accurately and this remains the most important. Everything goes very quickly and we stay clinging to our seat for an hour.

A meeting at the summit
“The Queen’s Justice” does not make the fans wait and offers us from the opening the moment that we all expect: the meeting between Daenerys and Jon. From the start, Daenerys assumed his authority, first by asking them to give their weapons, then with a small dragon flight just above the heads of Jon and Davos, and then with Missandei who lists his many titles. Between humor, embarrassing moments and disagreements, it is really the meeting between the fire and the ice that we witness – as Melisandre says so well. We have Daenerys who gets carried away by his temperament on one side and Jon who remains impassive on the other. In any case, we are glad to see that the showrunners did not fall into the fan-service, since this meeting is really the image of the two characters and necessarily they are not really on the same wavelength.
Where Dany is looking for an ally ready to bend her knee in front of her and also some validation, Jon does not have to make war for the Iron Throne and merely wants him to open his eyes to the threat that White Walkers represents. In the end, it is Tyrion who must play the matchmakers, since he has the advantage of knowing both parties and having a sacred gift for persuasion. Besides, what a pleasure to have Tyrion put on the scene in this episode is really one of our favorite characters! If the two characters are not on the same wavelength, Daenerys still agrees to give him all the dragonglass he needs. One senses a relationship of power that settles between them, with Dany on top, as if to remind us that she is her aunt.

The Revenge of Cersei
If a queen is ready to make concessions and reach out to strangers, Cersei has a method of her own to make order. Euron is the winner in King’s Landing, dragging behind Yara Greyjoy, Ellaria and Tyene Sand, and Cersei finally gets his gift. In exchange, she agrees to marry Euron once they win the war and make him the leader of her maritime armies – for Jaime’s great joy. Something tells us that the alliance between Cersei and Euron is more than wobbly and that at any moment one might turn against the other. But for now, it’s time for Cersei to savor her victory and she decides to kill Tyene in the same way that Ellaria killed Myrcella – and you can not really say that you want her!
This episode is truly a big victory for Team Lannister, as not only does Cersei secure an alliance with Euron Greyjoy, but also eliminates two of his enemies and avenges himself at the same time. Indeed, while the Unsullied attack Casterly Rock, thus thinking to weaken the Lannister, the army of Jaime attacked Highgarden which is not really equipped to face such an armada. Olenna welcomes death with open arms, such as Dumbledore, and takes the opportunity to confess her sins to Jaime revealing to her without remorse none that it is she who killed her son Joffrey. If it were thought that Dany was going to crush everything with his armies Unsullied and Dothraki, his dragons and his many alliances, it is for the moment Cersei that takes advantage largely.

Cold reunion
Meanwhile, in the North, Sansa takes her queen role very much to heart and does a really good job. However, his peaceful day was stopped by the return of his brother, Bran. If these Stark reunions have kept our tears in our eyes, we must admit that they are less touching than those of last season between Sansa and Jon. And the fact that Bran is totally cold, or even absent, does not help. He keeps repeating that he is the Crow with Three Eyes and that he must speak to Jon, without actually explaining to Sansa what happened to him. And then, between us, reminding her of the night of her rape is certainly not the most sympathetic way to share their memories. Bran is far from being the curious little boy and full of life of the pilot, just as Sansa is no longer the plague she was once. Anyway, we can not wait to see what Bran’s comeback will change in Season 7 of Game of Thrones and, most importantly, to attend his reunion with Jon which should lead to the craziest revelation in the series for this last.
