Garou has made a moving tribute to Johnny Hallyday, the singer with the powerful voice has reclaimed its title as My Mouth in the album “We all have something of Johnny” released in November last year. Yet, between the two men, it hasn’t always been kind.
Johnny Hallyday has left its marks in iron red in the French song. The death of the rocker, which occurred on the 6th of December last, has inspired the greatest tributes to stars such as anonymous, unanimous in the face of the “sacred cow” that was the idol of the youth and the sorrow felt following his loss. Fans and loved ones, keep in memory the tribute of unprecedented magnitude made at Paris on 9 December, in the presence of many personalities, from former heads of State and the president and Emmanuel Macron.
Nearly a month after his death, the thoughts towards Johnny Hallyday does not decline, on social networks or in the media. In Tv Entertainment this week, Garou has had some tender words for the rocker. The singer with the powerful voice takes over the song My Mouth in the album “We all have something of Johnny” released in November last year. “I wanted to regain a title that demands the power, the strength, because this is Johnny; and it is also what I love to do. This is what we like the most. (…) It was not only a great artist and a great singer, but when Johnny entered a room, he had to. It was disconcerted, but he was so friendly and caring. For me, it was like a father of music , “recalls Garou.
The relationship between the quebec singer and Johnny Hallyday, however, has not always been good. In his book, was Not born for this (Plon) out at the end of October 2017, the producer Jean-Claude Camus relates an anecdote uplifting on Garou and the idol of young people. The two artists had to share the stage of the Parc des Princes. The interpreter Alone was then at the peak of fame after his participation in the musical Notre dame de Paris. Johnny, subject to anger, has finally changed his mind. Has he been reluctant to share the bill with rising star, the voice as powerful ? “We’re going to dinner after the show at a restaurant near the Etoile, of which Johnny was the owner at the time,” says the producer. It was then that a member of the team announcement : “We don’t want Werewolf tomorrow”. Discomfort… Jean-Claude Camus had actually come to Garou of Canada, he had to sing again for three shows. He must now warn the manager of the artist that Johnny Hallyday is not just wanted more to happen with him.
