The potential series Judge Dredd, we talk about it for months so super hectic because we feel that it is not necessary that anything happen that could put its development in peril. Because, well, it was very, very much want to see it.

What is with this series, titled Judge Dredd : Mega City One, is that all the people involved seem to want to do things properly. Away from business opportunists who flock to our television screens for a long time, this new iteration of Dredd seems to be in the hands of passionate people who know exactly what to do to please their audience.

We already knew that the series, if she ever sees the light of day, of course, we would be about the adventures of a team of Judges in the megalopolis of crime, and would not be focused exclusively on Dredd. A good way to expand the universe of the film while retaining the aura and charisma of the character-title would lose a lot if you could see it all the time. Of course, the biggest question about the project still has not found the answer and it is obviously the involvement or not of Karl Urban in the role of Dredd.

The actor has made it a very long time, in the absolute, he was more than willing to do the series, an activist even during the conventions for the fans to mobilize, we also knew that he had already had discussions about a potential shooting schedule, but as we had no news since this summer, we began to get desperate to know more. So it is after a long period of silence as the actor has just done a small update to the micro-Screen Rant, stating, however, that, if return there is, it will be on his terms :

“I have had many discussions with production about my involvement, what interests me, and I told them that if they wrote me a character who has a true purpose, a true function and contributes to the overall story, then I might be very interested in the idea to take over the role. I certainly wouldn’t redo what I already did in the film, there must be elements for me to guarantee a more in-depth exploration of the character. So the ball is in their camp.”

And it is normal for an actor to have such requirements, especially if it is for the good of the project. So, dear producers and writers, we do not know you personally but you are asked to say “yes” without discussing any of this. You do what he asks, you do the series with him and everyone will be happy. In addition, there is a chance that he was right.
