37 years ago, Sylvie Vartan and Johnny Hallyday were separating, putting an end to one of the couples in the most mythical of the French song in the 60’s and 70’s.

Between Johnny Hallyday and Sylvie Vartan, it all started in 1961 when they met at the Olympia in Paris. Then begins a love story that they decide to hide for several months, before formalizing the micro-Jacques Paoli on Europe 1 in 1963. Crazy one of the other, the two singers then proclaim that they are ” almost engaged “. On April 12, 1965, they married in front of a horde of photographers and fans in a madness. On the 14th of August 1966, they became the proud parents of a little boy named David. After a decade punctuated by highs and lows.

The couple beats of the wing, separated and close to divorce, while the idol of the young having an affair with one of her background singers. An infidelity that Sylvie Vartan decides to forgive him, but not enough to be able to save their romance, which is definitely an end in 1980. Despite the hardships that have crossed their couple, Sylvie Vartan and Johnny Hallyday have on to stay close and accomplices.

37 years after their divorce and while Johnny Hallyday suffers from lung cancer, the singer told her entourage that she was “very sad and proven” by rumours of death that were aimed at his ex-husband for several weeks already.
