Only a week after the new school year, a student of third of the college Isaac of the Star had to be absent. It would be affected by tuberculosis, according to the information of France Bleu Poitou. The Centre of anti-tubercular Vienna (CLAT86) has informed the regional Agency of Health (ARS), New-Aquitaine. She was placed under treatment, and “his state of health is not a concern,” according to ARS.

“The LRA and the CLAT have decided to put in place a screening procedure for people who have been in close contact and prolonged with the collégienne during the last 3 months, including the students of her class,” adds the agency.

Tb settles in Vienna

It also specifies that, a priori, this new tb cases in the Vienna would not be linked to the epidemic that is rampant in schools of the department – particularly in the Châtelleraudais – since the month of may, and the death of a child of 5 years old at the CHU of Poitiers. He had died due to a meningoencephalitis of tuberculous origin.

The screens put in place by the ARS had shown to other children from other schools were also contaminated. A teacher replacement, which would have contracted the disease during a trip to Brazil, would be the source of the spread of the disease.

At the beginning of September, the LRA had extended the screening, including student teachers who have returned in contact with the teacher, as well as all the institutions in which it has been able to exercise since 2015.
