It is the science that says masturbating is good for health ! The NHS, the british health system, and encourages the men to practice onanism. The reason for this ? This would reduce the risk of developing cancer of the prostate.

The prostate is a gland that is part of the reproductive system of the man. It is located under the bladder, before the rectum and it surrounds the channel through which is discharged the urine to the bladder, ” the urethra “.

A study published in the journal European Urology, and conducted by researchers from Harvard and Boston university, has focused on 31 925 healthy male, who had been in 1992, a questionnaire concerning the frequency of their ejaculation.

These men, aged 20 to 29 years and 40 to 49 at the time, were followed up until 2010, a period during which 3 839 of them were diagnosed with prostate cancer.
Result : the researchers found that the risk of prostate cancer in these two populations were significantly reduced if these people éjaculaient at least 21 times per month (either by masturbating or having sex). This result was compared with men who do éjaculaient 4 to 7 times per month.

40 000 new cases per year

However, the researchers do not explain the reasons that may explain why ejaculate reduces the risk of developing cancer of the prostate. Previous research considering that the ejaculation helps to get rid of elements that promote the appearance of cancer, such as inflammation, or infection at the level of the glans.

According to the NHS, prostate cancer is the most common cancer for british men, 40 000 new cases being diagnosed each year.
