Thanks to Rick and Morty, Mcdonald’s will take over the production of the sauce Szechuan, published only in the framework of the promo of Mulan in 1998.
In the first episode of season 3 of the hilarious series Rick and Morty, the grand-father scientist Rick Sanchez takes advantage of the fact of being trapped in the memory of his brain by an agent of the galactic federation (also doubled by Nathan Fillion) to taste again the sauce Szechuan style Mcdonald’s, in a limited edition during the promo of Mulan in 1998, and it is delicious.
It is a passage particularly funny (extended in a second gag), which has stimulated fans in 2017 which are at the time, took to Twitter to call for the return of the sauce Szechuan.
And it’s delicious !
Mcdonald’s was first a bit taken lightly by not distributing, just for a day, a few sachets of sauce in some brands. Except that the under-estimation of the demand generated situations of quasi-events (the police even sometimes get involved) and a great discontent among the fans of the series.
That’s not a problem, Mcdonald’s plans to produce again its sauce Szechuan, but by doing things well this time and by delivering all of the signs in quantity suiffsantes. The fast-food has even created a marketing campaign and a site called We Want The Sauce. The Szechuan will henceforth be known as simply The Sauce and will be dégustable at a new distribution limited from Monday 26 February 2018, this time in all the restaurants. However, it is not known if this will also be the case in France…
Hoping that there is enough for everyone this time. But if this seems a bit absurd, it is fun to see how Rick and Morty, one of our favorite shows of 2017, manages to score his audiences with a simple gag that is not even in the center of the history of the episode from which it is taken.
This makes us all the more eager to discover the season 4, but it will have to wait until the end of 2019, unfortunately.
