Riverdale: Episode 1, is the new CW series worth it? Our verdict!
On Thursday night, The CW was broadcasting Riverdale’s episode 1. But is the series worth it? Here’s our criticism and our verdict.
We waited impatiently and it’s Thursday night it was launched on the CW : Riverdale, the new series produced by Greg Berlanti (Arrow, The Flash, Supergirl, Legends of Tomorrow). The pitch of the show is very simple: we meet beautiful and mysterious teenagers in a small American city that has been hit by a tragedy. Indeed, a pupil of the school of the village has disappeared and now, several months have passed. However, the injuries remain open, but everyone is striving to move forward. Riverdale, it’s a teen show, but not just any one. So yes, the CW has long surfed the wave like this: Gossip Girl, 90210, or The Vampire Diaries in its infancy, but Riverdale is totally different . The series is more sombre, more mature, more aesthetic, more sought after. The atmosphere of the small town is rather heavy, but the characters are clearly the strength of the series. One can not help but feel very close to Archie, Betty and Veronica from episode 1 of Riverdale .
The end of the episode opens new doors and sets the mystery of the season. We can imagine that the rest of the season will plunge us into the heart of the murder of Jason Blossom, while taking an interest in the love lives and secrets of the inhabitants of this small town, be they teenagers or their parents. The series evidently resumes the codes of the teen shows: sex, betrayals, revelations, but Riverdale seems to want to offer a very different perspective from what one is accustomed to see. In any case, this first episode was a complete success and it would be a shame to miss . Especially since the show is available on Netflix every Friday in US + 24. Is not that good news? Please be aware that the December 2016 Top series is still available! What did you think of the pilot?
