An American woman claims to have been sexually abused by the filmmaker in 1973, when she was 16 years old. A charge that occurs then that Roman Polanski is still being pursued for raping a teenager 40 years ago.

A third woman came out of the shadow, Tuesday, August 15, 2017, to accuse Roman Polanski of sexual assault when she was a minor, while the developer is still being pursued for raping a teenager 40 years ago. Identified only by the first name Robin, the American said at a press conference in Los Angeles that she had been ” sexually abused ” by the famous filmmaker when she was just 16 years old, in 1973. “The next day, I said to a[e] friend[e] that [Roman] Polanski had done to me, she explained, reading a statement. But, to this single exception, the reason why I kept this for me, is that I did not want my father to do something that could send them to prison for the rest of his life. “

The new accusatory from the director of Rosemary’s baby, Chinatown and The pianist said that she had decided to get out of his silence after Samantha Geimer, the victim at the centre of the rape case on a minor that haunts Polanski for four decades, had urged the authorities to close the file. The lawyer Gloria Allred, who represents Robin, said that the assault had taken place in southern California, but that his client would not give more details. Although there are limitations on her case, she could be called to testify at a future trial, claims Gloria Allred.

In 2010, the british actress Charlotte Lewis, also represented by Gloria Allred, specialized in cases of sexual assault, had also stated that the director had been forced to have a sexual relationship when she was 16 years old. The filmmaker, franco-Polish, who will be 84 years old this Friday, is accused of having drugged Samantha Geimer when she was 13 years old, and had raped her in the home of Jack Nicholson in Los Angeles in 1977 while the actor was on a trip.

Roman Polanski had admitted to having had unlawful sex with a minor and, in exchange, the judge had agreed not to retain other felony charges are more serious, including the rape with the supply and use of drugs. The legal agreement had been obtained with the consent of the family and their lawyers. After 48 days in detention in order to undergo a psychological examination, he was released to be able to finish a shoot. According to documents filed by his lawyer, Harland Braun, Roman Polanski was obtained by the judge in charge of the case that the seven weeks he had already spent in detention would be his only prison sentence.

But in 1978, convinced that the judge would go back on that promise and send them to prison, perhaps for decades, he fled to France. Roman Polanski married actress Emmanuelle Seigner, with whom he has two children, has always refused to return to the United States without assurances that he would not be imprisoned. The lawyer of the filmmaker could not be reached immediately for comment on these new allegations.
