Sense8: Why was the show canceled after 2 seasons?

For the biggest misfortune of many fans – including us – Netflix canceled Sense8 one month after the season 2 broadcast and a cliffhanger closed the final season. Why have you already made this decision when the rest of the series expected for more than a year has just landed on the VOD service?
