Star Wars The Last Jedi: New details on a scene with R2-D2 unveiled?

Cinema 12 July, 2017

New details on a scene from Star Wars: The Last Jedi with R2-D2 would have been unveiled. And apparently, our little droid is going to make some new friends!

We forget it a little easily but Rey did not go alone on Ahch-To at the end of the Revival of the Force! She was accompanied by Chewie and R2-D2, probably in a hurry to find their old friend Luke. What could we imagine a moving meeting between the three characters, the Jedi having disappeared from circulation for years. But it will not be said that our Wookie and the little droid will be satisfied with the friendship of Rey and Luke! For the planet where he exiled is full of life. On Ahch-To, the unknown creature has unveiled itself on a concept-art of Star Wars: The Last Jedi, but also a whole exotic and mysterious fauna, including strange birds that keep Luke in his company exile. And according to the rumors circulating so, R2 and Chewie will soon make friends with some of them, especially during a scene of the film.

The Making Star Wars site, which regularly broadcasts information about Star Wars: The Last Jedi, evokes a sequence involving the droid and one of these birds, called “porgs” in VO. According to their source, one of these small animals would come to land on what serves as head for R2, proof that the latter knows how to do with the local fauna. It would seem that the droid and Chewbacca are going to make friendship with a whole nest of porgs. What a nice little break between the machinations of Kylo Ren and the First Order and the hard work of Rey! In itself, information, if it is true, is not crucial. But it’s also the small details like the interaction between the different characters and their environment, as exotic and strange as they are, that nourish the universe of Star Wars movies. Especially as these little moments of calm are likely to end brutally if the Knights of Ren land on Ahch-To without being announced! Too bad, we will not have more information about it in the weeks to come, Star Wars: The Last Jedi, unlike Thor: Ragnarok, having decided to skip the San Diego Comic Con!
