The Guardians of Galaxy 2: Why did Peter Quill never return to Earth?

The Guardians of the Galaxy Vol 2 is currently in the movies and some fans are asking the question: why did Peter Quill never go home?
Peter Quill aka Star Lord aka one of the coolest characters in the film universe Marvel is (almost) the King of the universe (in our hearts). In the first Guardians of the Galaxy we discovered the tragedy that changed his life and we found him years later, adult and already winning the role of Star Lord. In The Keepers of the Galaxy Vol 2, Peter found another family and finally meets his father aka Ego , the living planet. We’re not going to spoil you too much, but clearly the encounter is not going to happen as he hoped and things are going to be a bit complicated to handle for him.
Apart from the obvious reason: living in space where the rules are still cooler than on Earth, being called Star Lord and being able to travel from planet to planet, Peter gives a more touching explanation in The Guardians of the Flight Galaxy 2 and if you’ve seen the movie, you already know where you then missed this revelation. The reason why Peter did not return to planet Earth is because he would not have been able to put his feet back in the knowledge that his mother was no longer there to greet him. Yes, Peter and Meredith were very connected and the lack would have been too great, whereas in space, the lack is less ‘alive’ since it shares no memory with it! Eh yes, The Guardians of the Galaxy Vol 2 has a more moving side and allows us to know the fragile side of our hero. All this could change with the arrival of the Galaxy Keepers in Avengers Infinity War where Star Lord and his team are expected, the time of some scenes on our blue planet!
