New adaptation of a novel horror, The Haunting of Hill House already has a release date scheduled for next October and is revealed in the images.

There are stories of horror that, despite the time and their long years of existence, continues to sustain and inspire their staffs horrific to future generations. Classic Stephen King (Carrie, It, Simetierre) by way of Mary Shelley (Frankenstein), or the works terrifying of James Herbert (the Fog) or even Howard Phillips Lovecraft (The Nightmare of Innsmouth)

Rightly so, the part gothic, The haunted House (The Haunting of Hill House in its original version) of the writer Shirley Jackson dating back to 1953 is at the center of the inspiration of this new series, horror stamped Netflix.

The Haunting of Hill House is not his first test shot. The novel has already been adapted several times on the big screen. For the first time in 1964, under the directive of the legendary Robert Wise in The House of the devil (The Haunting) with Claire Bloom and Julie Harris, who has received numerous accolades and awards from the press and the public.

Then, a second time, less glorious, in 1999 with the Haunting, under the direction of Jan de Bont. Despite a nice cast consisting of Liam Neeson, Catherine Zeta-Jones, Owen Wilson, or Lili Taylor, he was never able to reach the ankle of his older brother.

If the announcement falls a bit like a hair on the soup, it actually dates back to a year ago. The giant of the SVoD had announced to adapt in the form of a tv series on the novel by Shirley Jackson : The Haunted House. At the helm of this new show : Mike Flanagan, a small rising star of the cinema horror indie (Absentia, Not a noise, Jessie). A first teaser has been ratted on Twitter on Monday.

On Sunday, Netflix had already unveiled via Entertainment Weekly a load of exclusive images and the release date of his series : the 12th of October next.

In the casting you will get : Michiel Huisman (Game of Thrones), Carla Gugino (Jessie), Henry Thomas, Kate Siegel, Timothy Hutton (Murder) or Annabeth Gish. In short, that’s beautiful world, to hopefully a great success. If the synopsis has not yet been leaked, The Haunting of Hill House will be composed of 10 episodes at the time as yet undetermined.
