Shortly before the release of Independence Day : Resurgence, Roland Emmerich told everyone that he had big plans for Stargate. As his film is handsomely planted, there’s strangely more heard of.

And, quite frankly, this isn’t a bad thing, because, well, the projects are opportunistic, it’s going to 5 mins what. There was a little bit tired of what we take for pigeons. After that, it is safe, we would have liked to back in the world of Stargate, even for a reboot, because it was still very nice at the time. If the franchise has had a successful television career thanks to SG-1, Atlantis and Universe, the acolyte of Emmerich, Dean Devlin, had, however, been very clear on the fate of the saga of the past year: Stargate was going to fall by the wayside.

Finally, it was for the project concerning the two producers-directors because the world of Stargate is clearly not broken because we have just discovered the first teaser of an entire new series ; Stargate Origins. As its name indicates, we are going to go back in time and go back to the Cairo of the early Twentieth Century for us from the discovery of the Door of the Stars through the eyes of the young Catherine Langford, the daughter of the archaeologist Paul Langford.

Ellie Gall

For the moment, the details of the story remain unknown, as a precise date of dissemination, although the us always heralds that it will happen in 2017. The teaser itself does not offer something really new since it is a montage of the first scenes of the film, 1994, history to remind us of good memories. Catherine Langford will be performed by Ellie Gall (that we could see in Ash vs Evil Dead) and the series should consist of ten episodes and would be broadcast on the new digital platform of the MGM, Stargate Command.

In short, we are waiting to see what it can give.
