The Planet of the Apes – Supremacy: Two worlds go to war in a new TV spot

Cinema 26 July, 2017

A new TV spot from The Planet of the Apes – Supremacy reveals a little more about the war that will soon rage between Caesar and the terrible Colonel McCullough!

This time, it’s war! In the face of Colonel McCullough (Woody Harrelson) and his hatred of the apes, Caesar (Andy Serkis) can no longer preach peace between men and his people. For it is the ultimate battle for the domination of the planet that will be played in The Planet of the Apes – Supremacy! And if Matt Reeves compared the film to a western, it’s because there’s a good reason. Still as dark – even if one can expect some touches of humor seemingly welcome – the plot should revolve around the conflict between Caesar and McCullough and contrast their respective worldview. So to say that, between the monkey full of empathy and the military not frankly sane, things will be very, VERY stretched! The proof also with this new TV spot (rather ost, we must say) of Planet of the Apes – Supremacy.

And what a TV spot! He parallels the speeches of Caesar and McCullough, thus completely separating the apes from human beings. But if the two characters seem to hold the same discourse, one can well imagine that the latter will be much more cruel and more pitiless than the first. In any case, as he himself says in the video, Caesar is not responsible for the war raging between their two species. The video also shows us a human army on the march and a line of monkeys in snowy landscapes, but never a real confrontation between the two peoples. Only between Caesar and McCullough. But what also appears from this TV spot is that the monkeys seem almost more human, more gentle, than the human beings themselves, except for the blonde girl called Nova (Amiah Miller). Anyway, The Planet of the Apes – Supremacy, of which melty has unveiled the plot and the casting, appears more and more as a grand finale to the trilogy initiated in 2011 by Rupert Wyatt.
