Since the announcement, critics showered on the dismissal for the benefit of a relative of the president.

Philippe Bouchu, regional delegate of UNSA-Interior considers that” It is regrettable, as unfair and improper, that the prefect was ousted. This is a view shared by Philippe Vigier, deputy UDI : “They have executed the prefect, who is also a great prefect. Following this report, it was Emmanuel Macron, and the minister Gérard Colomb, to be able to say to the French ‘you can see we acted’.”

Christophe Castaner, spokesman for the government rejected it with regard to him, any ” act of authority “ and states : “It is the responsibility of the minister of the Interior as the decision has been made, but obviously in connection with the president of the Republic and the Prime minister”.

This is not the first time, since his inauguration in may, that the president of the Republic is accused of encouraging one of his relatives : the appointment of Stéphane Bern at the head of a mission concerning the heritage had caused much ink to flow, and raised the critical last September.
