Death

The mystery is unveiled : the reasons of the death of Dolores O’riordan, the singer of the Cranberries, have been unveiled. Ten days after the disappearance of the rocker, we now know that an overdose caused his death.

Dolores O’riordan, singer of the group The Cranberries, has been found dead on Monday, 15 January. The cause of his death has long remained mysterious ; the results of the autopsy are finally available, just two days after his funeral, which took place on 23 January – and during which one of her daughters collapsed, devastated, but supported by his grandmother, who had long taken in his arms.

According to data of the Santa Monica Observer, Dolores O’riordan died of an overdose of Fentanyl, an opioid analgesic, found in the bedroom of the singer. It is not yet known if the overdose was intentional – the rocker has already made attempts of suicide – or accidental. This is not the first time that the Fentanyl kills, particularly among the singers : the drug has been fatal for Michael Jackson, and Prince. The pain is sometimes used as a recreational drug, particularly in the United States.

If Dolores O’riordan had long struggled to recover from her divorce, she had for the past two years found love. Her boyfriend was put online a few days before his death, a photo where they appear together, happy and radiant.
