It would be difficult to explain the origin of the new craze around Stephen King at the moment, but the fact is that the author is in fashion again and that he is everywhere, all the time. And necessarily in the lot, there is waste.

So yes, Ca proved a massive hit and it is a very good thing, Gerald’s Game arrives on Netflix, and we are waiting on a firm footing, and we hope soon to have news in the mysterious series Castle Rock, but it should not be forgotten that in the wonderful world of adaptations of Stephen King, not everything is awesome. The Dark Tower has been a hard blow to the cinema and the television, we don’t really understand what happened with the replay of The Mist. However, the film of Frank Darabont was a perfect end-to-end and it was thought that he had only had to follow the path he had marked out.

But no, the showrunner Christian Thorpe has wickedly taken the foot in the carpet, changing in depth the concept of the story, including the use of the famous fog that is home to more of the ugly creatures, but the materialization of our fears. Result is a story of great moral value to which we think that it is handicapped by a tight budget, traveled tics narrative that is no longer thought to see in a series for the last 20 years. In short, The Mist it was not exciting and we were not in a hurry to see season 2.

And it is rather a good thing in the end because the Hollywood Reporter just announced that the chain Spike had decided not to renew the series for a season 2. However, the beginning of its dissemination was leaving under good auspices, since last June, his driver had rameuté more than a million spectators. A figure who has, unfortunately, been reduced to a trickle since the sequence has not managed to exceed 800,000 viewers, which is far below the estimates of the chain. And the target audience, 18-49 years old, who did not respond to this, Spike has decided to cut the valves.

It is not we who are we going to complain about it even if a cancellation is always terrible for the people that worked on the series. But hey, it had to be at the height also, this is part of the game. In any case if you are wondering what it might look like, so please be aware that the only season is available on Netflix under the name Haze, but will not come to you complaining because it is all rotten.
