Series Watchmen is an adaptation of Alan Moore becomes more and more intriguing.

There are two ways of approaching the series Watchmen to Damon Lindelof, the new adaptation of the comic cult of Alan Moore and Dave Gibbons, which became the movie Watchmen – The Watchmen with Zack Snyder. The first is to see yet another attempt to surf on the wave of super-heroes, to exploit a rich material and very appreciated, to extend the operation with the format of a series, and to ridicule again the universe of Alan Moore, who has not digested any of the adaptations of his works. Not to mention that the presence of Damon Lindelof, co-creator of Lost who also participated in the scenarios of Prometheus, Cowboys & invaders or World War Z, enough to excite the spirits.

The other way to look at the draft is to remember that Lindelof is also behind The Leftovers and the pursuit of tomorrow, he has clearly announced its intentions to reinvent the universe and take risks, and that the cast is, for the moment, surprising and tantalizing – Regina King, Jeremy Irons, Tim Blake Nelson, Adelaide Clemens, Don Johnson. And a new reason for believing it is coming, since Trent Reznor and Atticus Ross will sign the soundtrack of the series.

Deadline reports that the duo of musicians, oscar winner for The Social Network, will handle the music of Watchmen version HBO. Suffice to say that it is a guarantee of quality about the absolute. The leader of Nine Inch Nails and his collaborator, on How to Destroy Angels have also signed the original tapes fantastic Millennium – The men who didn’t like women and Gone Girl by David Fincher, and the very beautiful music of track at the Boston Peter Berg.

Ross has also worked on the music for The Book of Eli, Broken City, Hacker and Triple 9. Reznor, himself, had participated in the Lost Highway and Killers born, and had appeared in season 3 of Twin Peaks.

Trent Reznor being selective in terms of soundtrack, his presence on the series Watchmen sends a good signal in term of creativity and ambitions.

Who watches the Watchmen ?

Watchmen takes place in an alternate world where super-heroes are treated as out-of-the-law. Lindelof said that this would not be an adaptation to direct the work of Alan Moore. And, without real surprise, the story will deal in part of the world of Donald Trump, Theresa May, and Vladimir Putin.

HBO has ordered a complete first season, expected in 2019.
