The oncologist David Khayat, is back with emotion on the combat of Johnny Hallyday in the face of the disease. He recalls the last tour of the singer, who was an indispensable element of his moral and hope.

He had become the physician of record. Professor David Khayat, frequented regularly by Johnny Hallyday for fourteen months, whereas cancer of the lungs had declared war on the star. At the bedside of his patient, the doctor has witnessed first-hand the struggle led by the Taulier. A few days after the disappearance of the icon of the French music, the oncologist gave an interview to our colleagues from Paris, referring to the tour of the Old Bitches during the summer of 2017.

Then he went back on stage in the company of Eddy Mitchell and Jacques Dutronc, and many were interviewed on the state of form of Johnny Hallyday. The rocker was under constant medical supervision after you have decided to pursue the adventure with his two friends, despite sessions of chemotherapy exhausting. According to the David Khayat, this tour has done more good than harm. “For Johnny, as for any patient, the work, if it is wanted, is not an aggravating factor. It can remain inserted in the company. For him, it was capital. He chose to continue to sing and it was doing him good ” explained the doctor. His friend Jacques Dutronc told behind the scenes of this tour for which Johnny has given everything.

“Nobody has to be arbiter of his will. On the other hand, as a cancer doctor, I helped him to do so. Without going into medical details which are subject to secrecy, we’ve made it so that he can maintain physically to ensure their shows in the best conditions for him, ” assured the oncologist, who said that Johnny Hallyday is an example of courage and of fighting for all cancer patients.
