Cinema 27 February, 2017

Last night AMC was broadcasting a new episode of season 7 of The Walking Dead which proved decisive for Eugene and Negan. Check out our criticism of “Hostiles and Calamities” and pay attention to spoilers!
This week’s New Season 7 episode of The Walking Dead and Hostiles and Calamities was broadcast last night on AMC and you’ll be able to find OCS Choc very quickly. As expected, it is the Sanctuary that returns this week for an episode 11 focused on two characters in particular: Dwight and Eugene. It does not take much to compare the fate of the two men and think that Eugene could follow the same path as Dwight even if his motives are different . Where Dwight submitted to protect his wife Sherry, Eugene is pushed by cowardice and pronounces the fateful words at the end of the episode: “I’m Negan”. But before that, The prisoner goes through several stages and the least that can be said is that adaptation is not easy. Fearful by nature, Eugene is quickly confronted with the man who terrorizes him and saw his friends killed. Yet where he expected violence and imprisonment, it is a certain comfort that he finds.
Far from the conditions of Daryl’s detention, Eugene finds himself in a room furnished with fridge and video games. And to welcome him, Negan sent him some of his wives to keep him company. A company that will soon be interested in the genius of Eugene to whom they ask to make poison, not for their suicidal friend, but for the leader of the Saviors. It is not clear whether, as they said, Negan’s women told her that Eugene was planning to kill him, but one thing is certain, in the final minutes of the episode, Eugene’s conversion is complete And Negan seems satisfied with having brought him into his ranks. At melty we leave the benefit of the doubt to Eugene who has always been gifted to adapt quickly and survive. Cowardly and fearful despite a certain evolution of his character, it would have been difficult to oppose Negan as Daryl did . Eugene is now – apparently in any case – a Savior but it is hoped that he will return to Rick as soon as the opportunity arises.
Besides, the mystery of Daryl’s escape is resolved and it is no surprise that it was Sherry who helped him – to help Dwight. Punished by Negan, this does not prevent him from continuing to protect his ex-wife and have the doctor accused of the community to blur the tracks. Difficult not to wonder what will become Sherry and if Negan will eventually find it or not. AMC offers here an episode necessary to see the installation of Eugene at the Sanctuary but which lacks a bit of rhythm and that does not really advance the plot. It has certainly been discovered that it is not only for the bullets that Negan needs Eugene, but some scenes have dragged a little in length. The ambiguity of Eugene, Dwight’s ambivalence remain interesting to explore and could prove crucial in the aftermath of events . While waiting to know which side these two will be when the war breaks out between Rick and Negan, the first details of episodes 14 and 15 of season 7 of The Walking Dead were unveiled on melty! And you, what did you think of the episode?
