The Walking Dead has taken advantage of the Comic-Con to offer a very, very long trailer for the next season, which is expected on 22 October.

Season 7 of The Walking Dead is important. Because a central character has been killed, because the famous Negan appeared, but also because the audiences are beginning to seriously fall. After you have climbed dramatically during the first seasons (5.2 million average for season 1, 14.4 million for the season 5), the series adapted from the graphic novels of Robert Kirkman shows first signs of shortness of breath, including a season finale which drew 11.3 million fans (the least watched since season 2), far from the 17 million to the launch of season 7.

The figures were even impressive, to the height of a base of passionate fans, but that might encourage the writers to eliminate the defects and weaknesses of the series. Season 8 should thus allow to see if the series takes a new direction, or if it continues on its momentum, with the same formula and the same methods more or less contested.

In the first trailer, unveiled at Comic-Con, in any case, has sold eighth season as a warrior, which will see the group led by Rick, assisted by their allies, to confront Negan and his men.

Nothing too amazing in this trailer, which goes to a musical montage almost auteurisant to a long barrage of money shots, and other images of zombies and apocalypse. The whole band of heroes seems to be in any case ready to take out the weapons and taking revenge on the terrible Negan. With a question : what do the last few seconds, where a Rick very bearded wakes up ? Those who know the comics should know what it is… and understand that the show goes well and to a new phase.

The Walking Dead will return on October 22,
